Delete your account

You can delete your hi Boards account and its data yourself, at any time, from the app or from this website. It takes about a minute and happens straight away.

How to delete it

1. Open the hi Boards app, or go to hi.kvai.in, and log in with your username and PIN.
2. On Your vision boards, tap your picture (top corner) and choose Security & devices.
3. Scroll to Delete my account.
4. Enter your 6-digit PIN, tap Delete my account forever, then tap once more to confirm.

What is deleted, immediately

• Your account: username, display name, PIN hash and recovery-code hash. The username becomes free for anyone to take.
• Every logged-in session and trusted device, on all your devices.
• Your security log and your notification subscriptions.
• Your membership of every board.
• Every board that only you were on — with all its notes, drawings, files and text.

What stays

• Boards you shared with other people stay for those people, including notes and files you added there. If you were the board's admin, the longest-standing member becomes the admin. If you want your notes or files gone from a shared board, delete them before you delete your account.
• Files and text snippets on shared boards are deleted automatically 7 days after they were added, as always.
• Backups and technical logs kept by our hosting providers may hold traces for a short time until they are overwritten.
• If your account or network was banned for abuse, the ban record (a username and a hashed network address) is kept so the ban cannot be dodged by deleting and re-creating an account.

Can't log in?

If you forgot your PIN, tap Forgot PIN? Use your recovery code on the login card, set a new PIN, then follow the steps above. If you have lost both, write to hello@kvai.in with your username. We hold no email or phone number for you, so we will ask for something only the owner would know before deleting anything.

Delete only some of your data

• A note: select it and tap the bin.
• A file or text: open Files & text and tap the bin next to it.
• A board you made: press and hold it on Your vision boards and choose Delete board.
